Islamabad: The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Federation and the Home Secretary on PTI Chairman’s bail application in the cipher case.
Chairman PTI’s bail application in the cipher case was heard by a three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, which includes Justice Yahya Afridi and Justice Ayesha A Malik.
At the beginning of the hearing, Chairman PTI’s lawyer Salman Safdar read out the FIR, upon which Justice Sardar Tariq Masood inquired as to when this matter is. The lawyer told that it is for 2022, then Justice Sardar Tariq Masood remarked that you have spent a whole year on it. In some provisions the punishment is 2 years, in some it is death penalty and life imprisonment.
Lawyer Salman Safdar, while reading out the inquiry report and the allegations leveled against PTI chairman in the case, told the court that it has been alleged that the chairman asked Azam Khan to give wrong color to the cipher. It was alleged that Chairman PTI directly or indirectly caused damage to the state.
Later, after hearing the arguments of the lawyer, the Supreme Court issued a notice to the Federation and the Interior Secretary on the bail application of Chairman PTI Imran Khan and adjourned the hearing for an indefinite period.
