Peshawar: During the hearing of the case related to the political activities of PTI, Peshawar High Court Justice Ijaz Anwar has remarked that it seems that the caretaker government and the Election Commission have failed.
A hearing was held again on the contempt of court petition on the non-permission of the workers convention of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, in which the Advocate General appeared in the court. Justice Ejaz Anwar inquired that what is the function of the caretaker government, Advocate General Sahib, providing facilities or creating difficulties.
Justice Ijaz Anwar said that we had asked you to tell us whether they are banned or not, you said there is no ban. Advocate General Aamir Javed replied that he will stand by his word even today. They are not banned. Justice Ijaz Anwar said that there is no restriction on the ground. It seems that the caretaker government and the Election Commission have failed. The administration is also playing into someone’s hands.
The petitioner’s lawyer, Ali Zaman Advocate, said in the court that when he applied for the Workers’ Convention in Peshawar, Section 144 was imposed, on which the Advocate General said that there were serious issues of law and order, that’s why four or five days. What is the implementation of Section 144?
Justice Ejaz Anwar inquired that if the situation is bad then why not postpone the election. If the situation is bad, then how will the election be held? Why not call the Chief Election Commissioner? They do this, they call the Chief Election Commissioner in a personal capacity, they will ask him. If you cannot conduct a transparent election, then what is the purpose of the Chief Election Commissioner?
The petitioner’s counsel told the court that 11 police mobiles went to the house of the petitioner at night and harassed him. They say an order has come from above. I don’t know who is above.
