Lahore: Pheasant hunting was allowed for 2 months in certain areas of Punjab.
According to the details received by Express News, Punjab Wildlife has issued a notification for pheasant hunting from December 1 to January 31 next year. Hunters with valid shooting licenses are allowed to hunt pheasants only on Sundays in areas where, according to the Punjab Wildlife Survey, there is a significant population of pheasants.
According to the notification, victims were killed in Tehsil Gujar Khan, Taxila, Sohawa, Dinah, Choa Saidan Shah, Kallar Kahar, Isa Khel, Bhakkar, Kalorkot, Bahawalnagar and Manchanabad, Fateh Jhang, Hazro, Hasan Abdal, Ahmedpur Sharqia and Hasilpur. will be allowed.
Besides District, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Chiniot, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujarat/Wazirabad, Hafizabad, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Okara, Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Multan. Hunting will be allowed in all Tehsils of Khanewal, Lodhran, Wahari, Leh, DG Khan, Muzaffargarh and Rajanpur, but hunting will be prohibited in District Rahim Yar Khan and all its Tehsils.
Apart from this, there will be a complete ban on pheasant hunting in Wildlife Reserve Areas, Private Game Reserves, Defense Establishment Areas, Buffer Zones, Thal Public Wildlife Reserve Areas, National Parks.
Officials said that under the Wildlife Act/Rules, hunting of black, gray and CC pheasant will be allowed, hunting with automatic or service weapons used by armed forces, police, rangers will not be allowed, any force for hunting will not be allowed. Or the use of the official vehicle of the department will not be allowed.
