American ambassador meeting with Nawaz Sharif, discussion on election

Karachi: US Ambassador Donald Bloom met Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Mian Nawaz Sharif and discussed various issues including general elections, Israeli bombing of Gaza and relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, the former prime minister emphasized the importance of relations between Pakistan and America. Referring specifically to his meetings with various American leaders, he said that all American leaders recognize the importance of relations between the two countries.

In the meeting between Donald Bloom and Nawaz Sharif, the political and economic situation of Pakistan, especially the preparations for the general elections, were discussed. Apart from this, bilateral relations between Pakistan and America and cooperation in various fields were also discussed.

The meeting acknowledged the importance of strong and stable partnership between the two countries. The US ambassador and Nawaz Sharif discussed various topics of mutual interest including trade, economy, climate change, security and regional stability.

Nawaz Sharif highlighted the issue of martyrdom of innocent Palestinians as a result of brutal Israeli bombardment on Gaza and called for an immediate ceasefire. He demanded an immediate stop to the series of fighting and killings and stressed on immediate provision of medical and humanitarian aid to the affected people.

The American ambassador discussed the American priorities with Nawaz Sharif and thanked Nawaz Sharif for the pleasant and open conversation during the meeting.
