California: Technology company Meta has started testing a new tagging feature in its sub-platform Threads.

Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg shared a photo on his Threads account about testing the new tagging feature.

This feature looks like a hashtag but doesn’t actually work like that. A hashtag will be used for tagging using the feature, but the word will appear as hyperlinked blue text instead of appearing alongside the hashtag.

Using this new tagging feature of Threads, one topic at a time can be added to a post to prevent people from spamming for better reach.

According to Meta, the company will continue to work on this feature over time, so this first version will not be the final version of the feature.

It should be noted that a few days ago, the settings were changed to prevent posts shared by Threads on the platform from appearing on Instagram and Facebook.
