Islamabad: The federal government approved the Telecom Infrastructure Sharing Framework (TISF) developed by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
According to the PTA, the framework was developed in consultation with the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MOIT) and the telecom sector.
The framework provides a regulatory mechanism for licensees to manage their active and passive telecom infrastructure under a fair and competitive process.
The approval of the Telecom Infrastructure Sharing Framework is an important step towards the growth and sustainability of the telecom sector in Pakistan.
Its implementation is expected to significantly reduce the installation (CapEx) and operating cost (OpEx) of telecom infrastructure.
