Fake FIA ​​officer arrested for robbing government officials by threatening them with corruption inquiry

The accused obtained the data of government officials using social media

Peshawar: FIA Anti-Corruption Circle Peshawar arrested the fake Deputy Director of FIA red-handed.

The accused had stolen several tolas of gold from several government officials in the name of inquiry.

Accused Sajjad Hussain belongs to Haripur, who is a motor mechanic by profession, but he also pretended to be an officer of a sensitive organization.

Sajjad made calls to the government official using spoofing technology. He presented himself as Deputy Director FIA and informed the affected officer about the fake gold inquiry against him.

The accused also contacted on WhatsApp and called the affected officer in a fake inquiry against the Tehsildar to the hotel where several fake officials were also present with him. The accused called the complainant officer with 25 tolas of gold along with receipts in the name of fabricated gold enquiry.

On the instructions of Deputy Director Anti-Corruption Circle Saadullah, the raiding team took timely action and arrested the accused red-handed from outside the NAB office Peshawar. During the search, several fake identity cards, fake service card of FIA, arms license, 2 mobile phones were recovered from the possession of the accused.

During the investigation, the accused made big revelations and said that he used to get the data of government officials using social media. He also obtained the call records of government officials online for a nominal fee.

After getting the records, he used to call the officers and harass them in the name of fake enquiries. In the past, the accused also received gold from lady doctors and female officers in the name of enquiries.

In Haripur too, the accused pretended to be an officer and received mobile phones, cash and gold from several people. During the investigation, the accused further revealed that similar cases have been registered against the accused in Abbottabad as well and in one case he has been sentenced to more than 5 years.

The accused was arrested and investigation started. Raids are being conducted to arrest other accused.

An FIA spokesperson said that the public is informed that no FIA official makes any kind of contact by call in any inquiry or case. FIA has initiated strict action against such counterfeiters. If you get any kind of call in this regard, immediately visit the nearest FIA office and file a report.
