Peshawar: The Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Azam Khan passed away, after which the Caretaker Cabinet was also dissolved.
Azam Khan was brought to the hospital last night, where he could not recover. According to the spokesperson of RMI Hospital, Azam Khan was brought to the hospital last night due to heart trouble. His condition was alarming since last night and he was also suffering from heart disease.
Overnight, Azam Khan remained under treatment at the hospital where he was kept in the intensive care ward.
According to Head of Surgery Dr. Jameel, caretaker Chief Minister was unwell for 4 days, he was also suffering from diarrhea and vomiting. He was obstructed by environmental hernia, after which his condition became critical. His report was received at 8:30 pm, after which the operation was to be decided today. According to Dr. Jameel, he went to the washroom by himself at 9 am, later suffered a heart attack and died.
Caretaker Chief Minister KPK Muhammad Azam Khan was a retired Bureaucrat who has also served as Finance Minister, Federal Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources and Federal Secretary for Religious Affairs. He belonged to Padang area of Charsadda and was the brother of former Inspector General of Police Muhammad Abbas Khan.
Azam Khan also served as Chief Secretary and Secretary of various ministries in the past. He studied law at Peshawar University, after which he studied at Lincoln-Inn London to complete his Bar-at-Law degree.
The name of Muhammad Azam Khan as caretaker chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was proposed by the opposition, which was also agreed to by former chief minister Mehmood Khan.
It should be noted that due to the death of Caretaker Chief Minister Azam Khan, the Caretaker Cabinet was also dissolved. Azam Khan could not preside over the last meeting of the Provincial Caretaker Cabinet, this duty was performed by Caretaker Minister Syed Masaud Shah. Azam Khan was caretaker chief minister of the province for 9 and a half months. The caretaker provincial cabinet has ended for the second time. For the first time, all caretaker ministers had resigned on their own.
