Karachi: Currency worth lakhs recovered in raid on illegal exchange

Karachi: FIA seized local and foreign currency worth lakhs during the operation in Jamshed town.

According to the spokesperson of FIA, Banking Circle Karachi arrested 3 suspects involved in running illegal currency exchange from Jamshed Town.

Among the arrested accused are Muhammad Asif, Hafiz Faheem and Imran Nayani, who were running the business of reference handi and unlicensed foreign currency exchange. During the raid, 1 crore Iranian riyals, 8946 Saudi riyals, 1280 UAE dirhams, Omani riyals, Canadian dollars and more than 7 lakh Pakistani rupees were recovered from the accused.

Messages related to handi handi, several handi handi registers were also recovered from the mobile phones of the accused. The accused could not satisfy the authorities regarding the recovered currency. The accused have been arrested and investigation has been started, raids are being conducted to arrest other accused.
