Lahore: Smart Lockdown has been implemented in various districts including Lahore due to the continuous worsening situation of smog.

According to Express News, the smog situation in the province is continuously worsening due to which the citizens are getting sick. The caretaker provincial government has implemented a smart lockdown in various districts including the provincial capital Lahore.

The air quality index in Lahore crossed 450 A on Thursday, after which the district administration, police and other departments are active to implement the smart lockdown in the city. In this regard, all the relevant institutions have also formulated a strategy.

In Lahore and other smog-affected districts, a partial Smart Lockdown is being implemented on Thursday and Friday, while a full Smart Lockdown will remain in effect on Saturday and Sunday.

Markets, bazaars and other public places in central areas will be closely monitored by Safe City cameras during the Smart Lockdown by the administration. In this regard, the district administration and the police have taken the business organizations into confidence by informing them of the situation.

According to DC Lahore Rafia Haider, the traffic coming out of Lahore will be stopped on Saturday and Sunday. Along with the anti-smog lockdown, actions against the polluters are going on while the police will block the entrances and exits of the city to make the smog lockdown successful.

The district administration has appealed to the citizens to refrain from leaving their homes for 4 days without any emergency.
