According to Turkish media reports, last night 8 different Turkish TV channels launched a Life Broadcast aid campaign for the rehabilitation of earthquake victims and collected more than 6 billion dollars in aid money in a few hours.
According to the sources, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan participated in the aid campaign and announced that this aid money will be used for the rehabilitation and welfare of the victims of the affected areas of Syria including 11 provinces of Turkey.
The joint broadcast featured prominent figures in culture, art, business and sports to help earthquake victims, while a similar campaign will be held in Azerbaijan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Popular TV stars of these channels urged the public to donate to the Turkish Disaster Management Agency (AFAD) and the Turkish Red Crescent for the relief campaign starting at 5 p.m.
