Lahore: Due to the extraordinary delay in the approval of the official wheat release policy by the caretaker cabinet, a wheat crisis has arisen in Punjab.
During the last one week, the price of wheat increased by Rs 500 per maund while the price of a 20 kg bag of flour increased by Rs 200. The shortfall in wheat requirement and availability reached 50%.

Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi had announced that on our request Flour Mills Association has reduced the price of a bag of flour by Rs. After this statement of the Chief Minister, the prices of private wheat and flour in the open market decreased significantly.
