One more person died of Naegleria in Karachi, the total number rose to 11

Karachi: The Sindh Health Department has confirmed the eleventh death due to Naegleria folieri this year.

According to Express News, a 45-year-old man from Central district died due to the deadly brain-eating bacteria Nigellaria. According to the Sindh Health Department, the number of deaths from Nigelaria this year has reached 11.

45-year-old Kashif Qamar, a resident of Bafarzon Central District, has been sworn in on behalf of Nagleria. Kashif Qamar was admitted to a private hospital (Imam Clinic) on November 1 and his PCR test was positive for Nigella. Kashif Qamar died yesterday after suffering from fever and headache for three days. This is the third death reported in Central District from Nigelaria.

Till now, one death each in Jamshoro, Kemari, Korangi, Malir, Gharbi and Sharqi and two deaths have been reported in South while medical experts said that the symptoms of Naegleria fowleri are headache, fever, nausea, vomiting, neck stiffness, Includes altered mental status and seizures. Naegleria fowleri is a brain-eating amoeba. It can be easily killed by chlorine. Add chlorine to city water tanks.

Caretaker Health Minister Sindh Dr. Saad Khalid Niaz has appealed to the public to take precautionary measures to prevent Nigleria. Dr. Saad Khalid Niaz also contacted CEO Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation Engineer Syed Salahuddin. On his behalf, concern was expressed over the death of 11 people due to Naegleria.

The provincial health minister said that laboratory tests of water samples from all districts across the city should be conducted, and a report should also be provided regarding the amount of chlorine in the water supplied to the city. Mandatory measures should be taken for increasing deaths from Naegleria in the city, people should avoid putting water in the nose as per the instructions of scholars and experts and the amount of chlorine must be added to the water as per the instructions recommended by the experts.
