Karachi: The polling process for the by-local elections has started across the province including Karachi.
According to Express News, the polling process for the by-elections in Sindh province has started today, while the polling will continue from 8 am to 5 pm.
Polling will be held on 9 seats of Chairman, Vice Chairman and General Member in Shahr Quaid, 54 candidates including People’s Party, Jamaat-e-Islami and PTI are in the fray on 9 seats. The number of registered voters in the by-election constituencies is 2 lakh 6 thousand 686. There are 1 lakh 12 thousand 271 male and 94 thousand 415 female voters.
Out of 121 polls in Shahr Quaid, all have been declared sensitive and highly sensitive, the election of the Chairman, Vice Chairman of UC 7 of Gadap Town in Malir District, General Member of UC 1 Ward 4 of Gadap Town and UC will be held. 2 There will be an election for the General Member of Ward 3.
Polling will be held for the general member of UC 6 of Jinnah Town of Sharqi District, by-election for the Chairman of UC 3 of Maripur Town of Kemari District, General Member of UC 5 Ward 3 of Nazimabad Town in Central District. There will be polling for, election of Vice Chairman of UC6 of Saddar Town of South District, Vice Chairman of UC 12 of Sadar Town and Chairman of UC 13 will be elected.
Moreover, Mayor Karachi had submitted nomination papers for chairman from 3 union committees, Murtaza Wahab Ibrahim has won the post of chairman unopposed from UC7 of Hydari Town. Mayor Karachi has withdrawn nomination papers from UC 3 of Maripur Town, Mayor Karachi is contesting for Chairman from UC 13 of Sadar Town while Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad is contesting from UC 7 of Gadap Town. Will contest the election for chairman.
