A tanker ran over a bike in Orangi, mother and infant died, father injured

Karachi: In Orangi Town, a high-speed water tanker crushed a family on a motorcycle, a mother and an infant were killed and a father was injured.

According to Express News, Ramzan Musa, the 7-month-old son of Muhammad Musa, a resident of Aligarh Colony slum in Orangi Town area, was in bad health as the husband and wife were taking him to the hospital on a motorcycle when they arrived at Kasbah Mor Shehzad Chowk. A high-speed water tanker coming from had crushed them and rammed into the electric pole on which the PMT installed also fell with a loud explosion.

Seeing the accident, the people at the spot started shouting, the driver left the tanker and fled after the accident, 24-year-old Sidra Musa and her 7-month-old son Ramzan Musa died on the spot, while the child’s father Musa was injured. Both the dead and the injured were immediately taken to separate hospitals by ambulances.

Pirabad police reached the hospital and handed over the bodies of the mother and son to the heirs after taking legal action, while the injured was taken to the civil hospital where his condition is said to be serious. Police say that raids are being conducted to find the driver and his owner.

Injured Musa works as a watchman in a factory and had only one child. The heirs started crying after reaching the hospital, the family members and local residents say that there is no speed breaker at the place where the accident took place, due to which tanker drivers show high speed, there are three to four accidents in a week. Complaints have also been made to the concerned institution, but there is no hearing.

Meanwhile, a 20-year-old young man was riding a motorcycle near Shaara Faisal Baloch Colony Bridge around seven o’clock on Saturday morning when suddenly his motorcycle slipped and he fell to his death. The deceased was taken to Jinnah Hospital by ambulance where the deceased was identified as Nabeel.

The third incident took place on Baldiya Hub River Road in which 65-year-old Hasnain died after being hit by an unknown motor vehicle while crossing the road.
