Islamabad: The Election Commission has sought an appointment with the President for the date of the general elections in the country.
According to the sources, after the date of elections was told by the Election Commission during the hearing in the Supreme Court, the Election Commission officials have contacted the President’s House, in which they have asked for today’s time to meet the President.

According to the Secretary Election Commission, the President will be consulted regarding the general elections in the country, after which a submission will be submitted to the court. The lawyer of the Election Commission has informed the court in this regard that the Election Commission will consult the President regarding the elections. The Election Commission says in this regard that the President will be consulted without getting into the constitutional debate.
On the other hand, an emergency meeting of the Election Commission was held. In the meeting chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, the situation arising in the light of Supreme Court’s instructions was considered.
According to the sources, the meeting with the President was also discussed in the meeting and the future plan including the election date was discussed. Apart from this, the lawyer has also been consulted on what position the Election Commission will give in the Supreme Court. Election Commission lawyer, secretary and legal team participated in the meeting chaired by the Chief Election Commissioner. The Chief Election Commissioner’s appearance before the Supreme Court was also discussed in the meeting.
