Islamabad: Asma Jahangir Group won the Supreme Court Bar Association annual elections.
Asma Jahangir Group’s Shahzad Shaukat won with a lead of 464 votes, he secured a total of 1706 votes, Hamid Khan Group’s candidate Abdul Quddus secured 1242 votes.
A total of 3756 voters exercised their right to vote in the annual elections of the Supreme Court Bar Association, similarly Ali Imran Syed of Asma Jahangir Group won the seat of Secretary in the Supreme Court Bar Elections by getting 1447 votes.
Salman Mansoor of Hamid Khan Group could get 1373 votes and lost by 74 votes.
According to the inconclusive results so far, the Asma Jahangir group won 13 seats including president, secretary out of 17 seats in the Supreme Court bar election while Hamid group won 4 seats out of 17.
Additional Secretary of Hamid Khan Group Shehbaz Khosa, Vice President Punjab succeeded while two members of the Executive Committee of Hamid Khan Group also succeeded.
