Islamabad: After the government hiked the prices of petroleum products, the transport fares in the twin cities were hiked arbitrarily.
Public transport operators in Rawalpindi, Islamabad have started charging arbitrary fares as the prices of petroleum products have increased while even the cheapest public transport has become expensive.
Rawalpindi goods transporters have also increased their fares as the prices of petroleum products have increased, while the fares of stop-to-stop transport have been increased by Rs 10 per stop.
Due to inflation, the public has become more worried due to increase in the prices of petroleum products due to increase in transport fares. Citizens say that on the one hand, the government is imposing taxes worth billions of rupees, while at the same time increasing the price of gas and petroleum products will increase the prices of all essential commodities.
