London: We all know that there are many things we need to do to have healthy skin, including drinking water regularly and avoiding the sun, but according to experts, it is also important to watch our sleeping patterns to prevent skin damage.

Experts are warning people against sleeping in a position that puts pressure on their faces during sleep, as doing so can alter their facial expressions.

Many people are unaware that sleeping habits can change the shape of our face and cause wrinkles.

According to a study published in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal, the pressure and stress on the face during sleep causes facial impressions to deteriorate. This disorder, which appears in the form of vertical folds and lines, appears when we sleep on a crotch or stomach.

These vertical folds appear as temporary lines at first, but as we age, they leave a permanent mark on our face.

According to oculoplastic surgeon Dr. Maryam Zamani, sleeping on the crotch causes constant pressure on a certain area and as a result, lines are formed on the side of the crotch that is slept on and it becomes deformed and takes the form of wrinkles. Later it worsens the disfigurement of the eyes, lips and face.
