Karachi: The influenza virus is spreading rapidly in the city of Quaid, which has been confirmed by the health department itself by issuing an advisory and has also instructed the citizens to follow precautionary measures.
The Sindh Health Department said in an advisory issued on Wednesday that citizens are suffering from cold, cough and fever due to the increasing flu virus in Karachi.
Pregnant women, young children and people over the age of 65 with chronic diseases can be more affected by the influenza virus.
Precautions
In the advisory, the health department directed that infected patients admitted to hospitals should be kept in isolation while citizens should cover nose and mouth while coughing and sneezing and wash hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap or any other solution.
Citizens should avoid touching their eyes, nose and mouth and stay fit by supplementing their sleep with nutritious food.People suffering from flu-like illness should stay at home for 24 hours after fever subsides or recovers. And avoid meeting people.
The Health Department’s advisory states that affected persons should use masks, avoid travel, and improve ventilation systems in closed spaces.
