Beijing: The scientific community is shocked to see a patient with Alzheimer’s disease in China, as this patient is only 19 years old and has contracted this terrible disease at a very young age, which is usually found only in the elderly.
This adolescent patient’s mental capacity is rapidly declining, memory is responding, and clinical and psychological studies have shown that he has an early onset of Alzheimer’s disease. No traces. However, this case has been confirmed, the details of which have been published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease.
The young man from Beijing said that he started having problems with memory and concentration from the age of 17. He started to keep things and forget them and the things of the previous day also started to disappear from his mind. Now he finds it difficult to read.
The experts then put him through the WHO, University of California Auditory Verbal Learning Test, a well-known study of phonological and verbal acquisition, and confirmed his severely impaired memory.
The 19-year-old then underwent all the common tests for Alzheimer’s and dementia, and his cerebrospinal fluid was found to have elevated p-tau 181, indicative of Alzheimer’s, and low levels of amyloid beta, another sign of the disease. It is a great sign. However, no genetic changes have been observed.
Experts expressed surprise at this incident and said that Alzheimer’s disease is very unlikely and rare at this age because its rate is only 5 to 10% in people under the age of 65, while this disease occurs at the age of 19. It is an unusual phenomenon.
