Lahore: The police officer who kidnapped citizens and received ransom was arrested along with his accomplices.
According to Express News, In-charge Investigation New Anarkali Police Ishtiaq Anwar used to kidnap citizens and collect ransom from them, who was arrested by the police along with his accomplices.
According to police sources, Sub-Inspector Ishtiaq, along with fellow officers, abducted citizen Ahmad Nawaz Sindhu, and threatened to kill him in a police encounter using the name of the superior officers.
Later, the youth was released by taking a ransom of 6 lakhs from Aslam Sindhu, father of Ahmed Nawaz Sindhu.
On Aslam Sindhu’s approach, North Cantonment Police arrested Ishtiaq Anwar along with his fellow officials.
According to police sources, a case has been registered against the officials including the sub-inspector and they have been handed over to anti-corruption.
