Peshawar: The Peshawar High Court disposed of a petition filed regarding harassment of foreigners legally residing in Pakistan.
According to the details, a two-member bench headed by Chief Justice Muhammad Ibrahim Khan of Peshawar High Court and comprising Justice Waqar Ahmed heard the petition filed regarding Afghan citizens who have legal documents in Pakistan.
The petitioner’s lawyer Saifullah Mohib Kakakhel Advocate told the court that the government issued a notification that Afghan citizens who have legal documents, POC cards will not be called anything. Despite the notification, citizens of Afaan who have legal documents are being harassed.
The Chief Justice said that the government has decided that those who are illegal will go to their country, while Justice Waqar Ahmed said that those who have legal documents will not be told anything. If the holders of legal documents are affected, the matter will definitely be looked into by the court.
The court said that the government said that action would be taken against the illegally staying foreigners, and disposed of the case in the light of the government notification.
