iPhones and electronic products worth Rs 96 lakh have been recovered from a woman’s suitcase at Karachi Airport, the police arrested the woman.
According to Express News, Pakistan Customs seized iPhones and other electronic items worth Rs. 96 lakh from the suitcase of a woman (M) who came from Dubai while proceeding at Jinnah Terminal Arrival.
According to customs, the exported items include four iPhone 15 Pro Max, 2 Apple MacBooks, 25 branded bags, 8 branded watches and 25 kg of branded cosmetic products.
The value of duties and taxes on the exported items is Rs 66 lakh, while the value of the exported iPhones is Rs 66 lakh, on which Rs 30 lakh is levied as duty and taxes.
According to the customs officials, the female passenger was trying to leave the lounge using the green channel. Due to suspicion, the officials searched the luggage of the female passenger (M), who had received the goods from the couriers from Dubai. As a Genian passenger, the woman had to take these items out of the airport.
Customs officials have registered a case under the Customs Act and seized the items.
