England suffered a major setback during the World Cup, with key bowlers out of the tournament due to injuries.

According to the English Cricket Board, fast bowler Race Topley will not be able to play the remaining matches of the World Cup due to a fracture in his left finger. He suffered the injury while fielding in the match against South Africa on Saturday.

The ECB added that the runners-up will leave India in the next 24 hours to return to the UK where they will be examined by medical teams. The ECB has not announced a replacement for Rees Topli.

It should be noted that defending champions England have managed to win only one of their four matches in the World Cup so far and are now ninth in the points table.

South Africa defeated England by 229 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday. South Africa had given England a mountain-like target of 400 runs to win, in response to which the English team was bowled out for 177 runs.
