Trial of civilians and general election cases set for hearing in military courts

Islamabad: Cases against the trial of civilians in military courts and general election cases were set for hearing in the Supreme Court.

After the decision of the committee consisting of Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan, the Supreme Court has appointed trials of civilians and general election cases in military courts.

The Supreme Court has also issued formal notices to the parties in the case.

A 5-member larger bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan, will hear the case against the trial of civilians in military courts on October 23. The larger bench includes Justice Muneeb Akhtar, Justice Yahya Afridi, Justice Mazahir Ali Naqvi and Justice Ayesha Malik. The Supreme Court will hear the case against the trial of civilians in military courts at 11:30 on October 23. The last hearing of the case was held on August 3.

Meanwhile, another important case in the Supreme Court is related to the holding of general elections in 90 days, which will also be heard on October 23.

A 3-member bench headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa will hear the case related to holding general elections. Justice Aminuddin Khan and Justice Athar Minullah are included in this bench.

It should be noted that petitions have been filed by Supreme Court Bar and others including PTI to hold general elections in the country in 90 days.
