Due to non-supply of funds, the insurance company has once again suspended free treatment on the health card in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to Express News, the insurance company has stopped all the panel hospitals from admitting new patients on the health card.
The insurance company has said in a statement that the health desks of the health card plus program will remain open in the hospitals, all the patients coming for treatment on the health card in private hospitals should be referred to the government hospitals, the insurance company will be paid by the government in terms of premium. Faced with non-supply of funds, the government owes the insurance company about 35 billion in arrears.
It should be noted that the insurance company has also requested the government to release ten billion rupees. Various major hospitals in the province have also started temporarily suspending free treatment on health cards due to lack of funds. Yesterday, Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar also announced suspension of treatment on health card.
