Islamabad: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar attended the third Belt and Road Forum held in Beijing where informal meetings were held with world leaders.
The Prime Minister also had a meeting with the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, in which the two leaders discussed global and regional issues.
The Prime Minister thanked the Secretary General of the United Nations for his visit to Pakistan last year and his special interest in helping and rehabilitating the victims. The Prime Minister also paid tribute to the actions taken by the Secretary General for the countries affected by climate change and the steps taken to raise awareness of this important challenge worldwide.
Similarly, the Prime Minister also met the President of Kazakhstan Kasim Jurmat Tuqayev in which they discussed relations between the two countries, issues of mutual interest and regional situation. The meeting also discussed the promotion of cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan in the field of trade and energy.
The Prime Minister also met Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who is participating in the 3rd Belt and Road Forum.
