Decision to give 140% headquarters allowance to more than 305 officers of FBR

Islamabad: The federal government has decided to provide 140% FBR headquarters allowance to more than 305 officers of grades 17 to 22 of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

This allowance will be given only to the officers posted in FBR while the Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar has given approval to provide headquarters allowance to FBR grade 17 to 22 officers.

Provision of allowance to FBR officers will be applicable from November 1, 2023. In this regard, as per the document available to “Express” received back by the Prime Minister’s Office after approval of the summary of allowances for officers in grade 17 and above at FBR headquarters, it is stated that That the Prime Minister has approved the summary of rationalization of allowances of FBR HQ officers.

The document states that the Prime Minister has approved the proposal given in paragraph 6 of the summary sent for giving headquarters allowance to FBR officers in grade 17 and above. In this regard, a senior FBR officer has confirmed that the summary from the Prime Minister’s Office has been approved and in this summary, 140% allowance was recommended for FBR officers in grade 17 and above. , which has been approved.

The said officer said that the federal government had approved 150% executive allowance for the officers of the remaining ministries and divisions, which caused anxiety among the FBR officers because the performance allowance received by the FBR officers. Many years ago there was a freeze on the basic pay level and after that 150% allowance was given to the officers of other institutions but the FBR officers were deprived of it. Financial difficulties had increased for which this summary was sent which has now been approved and formal notification will now be issued.

On the other hand, according to the document available to “Express”, in the summary approved by the Prime Minister’s Office, it is stated that the FBR Headquarters Allowance 2023 will be given only to the officers of Grade 17 and above of the Federal Board of Revenue Headquarters. And this allowance will be applicable from 1st November 2023. The document further states that the expenditure incurred on payment of this allowance will be met from the budget allocated by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for the current financial year 2023-24.
