Islamabad: The Supreme Court dismissed the appeals of the defected PTI members.
The court dismissed the appeals of the defiant PTI members as ineffective.
The Chief Justice inquired from the DG Election Commission that the Election Commission may have been ordered by the High Court regarding the Punjab elections. What is the Election Commission doing now after the order of the High Court? Why is the commission consulting the governor for the election date?
The DG Election Commission told the court that the Election Commission had consulted with the Governor of Punjab yesterday. The minutes of the meeting have not yet been received from the governor. Governor Punjab will probably take the legal route on the matter.
Justice Ayesha Malik said in her remarks that why do you need consultation for the elections, while Justice Athar Manullah said that the High Court may have ordered the Election Commission to consult the Governor.
The Chief Justice said that if there is an order of the High Court, then the Election Commission should consult.
