Peshawar: The Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court has remarked during the hearing of the case that it would be better if we were in Occupied Kashmir than having no law.
The case related to the disappearance of a citizen named Noor Zaman was heard by Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, in which SHO Hayatabad and Tatara appeared on the summons of the court.
During the hearing, the lawyer of the petitioner took the stand that my client is missing, the police is showing ignorance. If the police do not know, then who made my client disappear?
The Chief Justice remarked that the police must abide by the law. If the law is not followed, no one will be safe. It would have been better for us to have been in Occupied Kashmir than to have no law. Arrest, impose non-bailable provisions, but don’t.
The Chief Justice said that the IG has been called next week and will ask him what is happening. Police have made countless sacrifices, so don’t forget their sacrifices. Don’t do that or even your officers won’t be able to save you.
Later, the court adjourned the hearing by summoning the DSP.
