Karachi: Police officers who ensure the safety of people’s lives and property have themselves become robbers.
Sadar Police arrested 2 officers of Tipu Sultan police station involved in short-term kidnapping on secret information and technical grounds.
According to the spokesperson of South Police, the arrested police officer Babar Zaman along with his fellow officer Usman entered the limits of Sadar police station last month and stopped a rickshaw driver named Abdullah near Sadar FTC and threatened him. They took him to an unknown location and kept him in their custody for some time, after which they released him after receiving a ransom of 30,000 rupees.
The President of the Police came to know about the above incident, on which the police arrested the accused Babar Zaman, a police officer posted in Tipu Sultan police station, on the basis of secret sources and technical grounds, while raids are being conducted to arrest his fellow officer Usman.
