Karachi: Extortion has started again in Karachi, 91 cases of extortion have been reported during the 9 months of this year, while the extortion network has been revealed to be operating from Iran, Dubai and Afghanistan.
SSP Junaid Shaikh of the Specialized Investigation Unit says that the extortionists have changed the method of the incident, there are strong and organized gangs involved in extortion abroad who have formed 5 to 7 groups with the help of local boys. .
The boys in the extortion network first do a complete raking of people from various walks of life including businessmen, small and big traders, shopkeepers, builders and others and then send extortion slips with bullets to big and small industrialists. Threats are called from abroad which we also call neighboring countries.

According to the records of the Specialized Investigation Unit, SIU had to undergo investigation of 91 cases in 2018, in which 44 cases have been challaned in the courts, out of 91 cases of extortion, 11 cases have been classified as “A Class”. According to which the evidence in these cases is insufficient, no progress or identification could be made regarding the accused.
2 cases of extortion have been classified as “B Class”, meaning that 2 cases of extortion have been proved to be minor, similarly, the Specialized Investigation Unit has classified 10 cases as “C Class”, under which these cases are canceled class, meaning that these cases are Entered on misunderstanding.
In 8 cases, the SIU has completed the investigation and sent back the case file in which no evidence of extortion has been found, while in 16 cases the police investigation is ongoing, in 45 cases the police trial is being conducted.

SSPSIU Junaid Shaikh says that his unit arrested 92 accused in 9 months of this year, the local network of extortionists is not so strong and organized but this year is very disturbed compared to previous years. Some of the cases and the arrest of the accused have revealed that the network of extortionists is operating from abroad, these groups are being operated from Dubai, Iran and Afghanistan, which have also been caught with the help of modern technology.
Regarding the mastermind of the group, the relevant institutions were also informed. In the last few days, the Karachi police have received complaints of extortion from the small and big markets of Shahr Quaid, who were sent an extortion slip and a pill along with it. The police have identified the accused.
