Haste should be avoided in the evacuation of Afghan refugees, Sirajul Haque

Hasty steps will lead to differences and problems in both countries, Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan

Peshawar: Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haque has said that Afghanistan and Pakistan are twin brothers, they cannot be separated, our civilization, culture and religion are common. Hasty decision to evacuate Afghan refugees should be avoided.

He expressed these views while addressing a meeting of Jamaat-e-Islami’s Committee on Afghan Affairs in Al-Maqruz-e-Islami Peshawar.

The meeting reviewed the tension between the Pak-Afghan governments and the situation after the announcement of the expulsion of Afghans from Pakistan.

Sirajul Haq said that both the countries should make a joint comprehensive plan regarding evacuation. Hasty decisions and actions will lead to differences and problems between the parties. Both countries have fought colonial forces together, so it is important to plan together for a prosperous future.

He said that at a time when a stable government is established in Afghanistan, other countries are opening their embassies, Pakistan should not incite hatred. Jamaat-e-Islami will fight the case of Afghans.

Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Sirajul Haq said that the people of Pakistan have supported Afghans for half a century and have paid a heavy price for it.

He said that we also hope that the Afghan government will cooperate with Pakistan against terrorism in Pakistan. The difference between the two countries is a plan of secular forces against us. The people of both the countries will have to show patience and tolerance to make this project fail.

He demanded that the two countries try to find a dignified way for the evacuation of unregistered Afghans in Pakistan by October 31.
