You don't have to worry, good days will come soon, Shahbaz Sharif

Lahore: Former Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif has addressed the people and said that you should not panic, good days will come soon.

While holding a news conference in Lahore, PML-N President and former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the decision of the European Parliament members to extend the GSP Plus scheme for Pakistan and said that thanks to the European Parliament and the voting countries. Honorable members of the European Parliament expressed positive thoughts for developing countries.

He said that further extension of GSP plus status will benefit Pakistani exports. In this regard, I pay tribute to the Pakistani mission in Brussels and the team concerned. Special concessions on exports to European countries will help improve the economy and facilitate the presence of Pakistani products in European markets.

Regarding the return of the former prime minister and leader of the Muslim League-N, he said that the question should not be asked again and again whether Nawaz Sharif is coming or not. Nawaz Sharif is coming to Pakistan on October 21.

Shahbaz Sharif would have said that the 16-month government was facing Himalayan challenges. Floods and IMF conditions loomed like a mountain. The PTI government plunged the country into a vortex of problems. The previous government set terms with the IMF and reneged on its own. We saved the state by sacrificing politics. This task was not easy for us.

The former prime minister said that when the no-confidence motion came close, he tried to play with the state. Devote all energies to bring the country out of economic crisis. We inherited economic depression, long marches and sit-ins. Inflation was transferred from the previous government which increased gradually. We made a successful deal with the IMF, gave farmers an agricultural package.

He added that we saved Pakistan from bankruptcy. What would happen if Pakistan went bankrupt? There is a rush to withdraw money outside drug stores, banks. Shahbaz Sharif said that we made desperate efforts to solve the problems. We devoted energies to dealing with historic floods. Allah helped us to save the country from bankruptcy.

Shahbaz Sharif said that a group planned to destroy the state to save its politics. Nawaz Sharif’s economic reforms in the 90s are world-renowned. Nawaz Sharif gifted CPEC to Pakistan. The IMF agreement was made possible through the efforts of the coalition government. It is not fair to say that we succeeded in every field in 16 months. The coalition government helped save the country from bankruptcy.

He said that if Pakistan had gone bankrupt, there would have been processions on the streets today. Shahbaz Sharif while addressing the people said that you should not panic, good days will come soon. We served the nation in very difficult times and with limited resources. Nawaz Sharif will return to Pakistan on October 21 and hold a rally at Minar Pakistan.
