Islamabad: Chairman PTI approached the Islamabad High Court to suspend the Election Commission’s notification of disqualification of punishment in the Tosha Khana case.
The court has also been requested to amend the appeal against the sentence in the Tosha Khana case and allow the state to become a party. On behalf of Chairman PTI, Sardar Latif Khosa Advocate has submitted an application in the Islamabad High Court which It has been requested that the state be allowed to be a party by amending the appeal to declare the sentence of Chairman PTI null and void in the Tosha Khana case.
An objection was raised by the lawyer of the Election Commission not to make the state a party in the appeal. In the miscellaneous petition, it has been said that the Islamabad High Court suspended only the sentence of Chairman PTI in the Tosha Khana case and the entire decision of August 5 should be suspended.
The Election Commission issued a notification to disqualify Chairman PTI from contesting the elections based on the conviction in the Tosha Khana case. As the punishment order is suspended, the notification of disqualification from the Election Commission should also be suspended pending the decision on the appeal.
