Karachi: The Sindh High Court has issued notices to NDMA, Commissioner Karachi and other authorities on a petition against encroachment on the drain at Haji Lemon Goth Gulshan Iqbal.
In front of a two-member bench headed by Justice Aqeel Ahmad Abbasi, a hearing was held on the petition against the encroachment on the drain at Haji Lemon Goth Gulshan Iqbal.
The petitioner said that there is a lot of encroachment in Gulshan Iqbal Block 3 and 4. Despite the orders of the Supreme Court, the encroachment from the rain drain of Haji Lemon Goth has not been removed.
The court inquired that there is an order of the Supreme Court against encroachment on the drains, has it not been implemented? The entire sewage system of our areas has been destroyed, huge towers have been erected on a plot of 80 yards. Commercial activities are going on in residential areas and nobody is going to say anything.
Justice Aqeel Ahmad Abbasi remarked that do you want to demolish the entire population? Notices are issued and responses are sought from the parties.
The court issued notices to NDMA, Commissioner Karachi and other officials. The court adjourned the hearing till October 26, while seeking answers from the parties for the next hearing.
