Peshawar: PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has filed a petition in Peshawar High Court against not allowing the election campaign.
The petition was filed by PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Ali Amin Gandapur and others. The provincial government and IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and others have been made parties in the petition.
It has been stated in the petition that space is not being given to PTI in the election campaign, obstacles are being put by the district administration and police. Other political parties are allowed to campaign and hold rallies but PTI is banned.
According to the petitioner, former PTI MLAs and workers are being harassed, workers’ convention in Kirk was shelled by the police and workers were detained. On the same day in Kirk, PTI’s program was sabotaged while ANP was allowed to hold a rally.
The petition pleaded that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf is the largest political party in the country, but it has been banned from holding rallies and conventions, so PTI should be allowed to conduct peaceful election campaign.
