Peshawar: Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Azam Khan has established a steering committee for the development of the integrated tribal districts of the province and to solve the problems.
Provincial Minister for Amalgamation of Districts will be in charge of Steering Committee while Special Secretary will be Interior Secretary. The Chief Minister has also issued orders for the establishment of “Integrated District Implementation Unit” to implement the decisions of the Steering Committee.
According to the announcement issued by the provincial interior department, the steering committee will keep a special focus on the tribal districts and make recommendations in addition to development works and problem solving there, while the “Implementation Unit” will implement the decisions of the steering committee. He will provide all the support he needs.
The Steering Committee will include Special Secretary Chief Minister Secretariat, Special Secretaries P&D, Member Board of Revenue, DIG (who will be nominated by IG Police), Representative Corps Headquarters XI Corps, Director Center of Excellence.
Additional Secretaries of Finance, Health, Education, Agriculture, Minerals Tourism and Law Department will also be part of the committee. The steering committee may add any officer or expert to the committee if it wishes.
The Integrated District Implementation Unit will be under the Special Secretary Home Department who will act as the Secretariat of the Steering Committee, consisting of Chief Economist P&D, DGM&EP&D, DGSDE, Coordinator P.M. Aryu and Deputy Secretary Chief Minister’s Secretariat will perform additional responsibilities in addition to their duties for which they will be paid an honorarium.
The steering committee will work to speed up the implementation and monitoring of all matters related to the merger of districts, for which it will also take steps on its own and implement the instructions received from the Chief Minister or the Chief Secretary. will The caretaker provincial minister for the merged districts will report to the apex committee and the provincial task force in this regard.
