World Cup: Pakistan lost in the second warm-up match as well

Pakistan cricket team lost by 14 runs in their second warm-up match in the World Cup.

Batting first at the Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium, Australia had given Pakistan a target of 352 runs to win, in response to which the national team could only score 337 runs in 47.4 overs.

Pakistan’s opening pair failed once again in the match. Fakhar Zaman scored 22 runs and Imamul Haq returned to the pavilion with 16 runs. Abdullah Shafiq could only score 12 and Shadab Khan 9 runs.

Four wickets fell for Pakistan’s total score of 83, after which Iftikhar Ahmed and Babar Azam supported the team. Iftikhar Ahmed returned to the pavilion after scoring 83 runs while Babar Azam was retired after scoring 90 runs. Muhammad Nawaz scored a half-century, apart from which no other Pakistani player could score remarkable runs.

Australia’s Marence Lebuschagne took 3, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Marsh took 2 and 2, while Glenn Maxwell and Sean Abbott took one wicket each.

Earlier, Australia scored 351 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Opener David Warner and Mitchell Marsh provided a start of 83 runs, but Warner lost the wicket after scoring 48 runs while Mitchell Marsh was dismissed after scoring 31 runs. Among the other players, Steve Smith 27, Alex Carey 11 and Marins Labushin scored 40 runs.

Glenn Maxwell showed aggressive batting with 77 off 71 balls with the help of 6 sixes and 4 fours while Josh Ingles played an innings of 48 runs off 30 balls.

On behalf of Pakistan, Osama Mir took 2 wickets while Muhammad Wasim Jr., Shadab Khan, Muhammad Nawaz and Haris Rauf took one wicket each.

Earlier, Australia captain Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bat, saying that he would try to give all the players in the squad a chance to play.

On this occasion, captain Shadab Khan said that the effort will be to make a brilliant comeback against Australia and give the best performance in all fields.

On the other hand, in the match against Kangaroos, Shadab Khan has been entrusted with the captaincy, while captain Babar Azam will come for batting, but will not be available for fielding. Mohammad Haris has been given a chance to replace the same Mohammad Rizwan.
