The laws to stop illegal transplantation of human organs will be made more strict, Chief Minister Punjab

Lahore: Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi has said that the laws will be tightened to stop the illegal transplantation of human organs.

Talking to the media, the caretaker chief minister said that a big gang of illegal kidney transplants has been arrested.

He said that the person assisting the accused Dr. Fawad in the operation is a motor mechanic, the accused has been arrested five times before but was released on bail due to a weak challan.

Mohsin Naqvi said that the accused Dr. Fawad has transplanted the kidneys of 328 patients so far, he will tighten the rules to prevent illegal transplantation.

Mohsin Naqvi further said that the accused used to use private residences as hospitals and was charging up to one crore rupees for transplants from overseas patients.

The Caretaker Chief Minister said that it is necessary to change the laws to arrest the people involved in such dangerous crimes. He said that the Health Care Commission and the authority to be created regarding human organ transplantation have also failed to play an active role.

Announcing a reward of five lakh rupees for the police party that arrested the accused, the Chief Minister said that he will try to make all the accused involved in this heinous crime come to justice.

The Chief Minister of Punjab said that five policemen who helped the accused to release the accused have also been suspended.
