23 thousand 152 FIRs registered, recovery of 14 billion 33 crore rupees
Islamabad: 10 thousand electricity thieves were arrested in the crackdown against electricity thieves across the country.
Secretary Power Division says that despite 75% of total theft, only 725 arrests were made in Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The action of the Power Division against the power thieves is going on on a daily basis.
Secretary Power Division said that 10,000 electricity thieves have been arrested so far from across the country, while 23,152 FIRs have been registered, a total of 14 billion 33 crore rupees have been recovered from electricity thieves.
Secretary Power Division said that 2 thousand 961 people have been arrested after recovering 3 billion 85 crore rupees in LESCO, 9 thousand 564 FIRs have been registered. Two billion 69 crore rupees have been recovered in HEXO, two billion 42 billion rupees in Pesco.
Secretary Power Division Rashid Langriyal further said that despite 75% of total theft, only 725 arrests were made in Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
