Pakistan made it clear to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) that the caretaker government would not impose any new taxes.
The IMF officials from the Federal Board of Revenue held an online meeting in which it said that the FBR will achieve the tax target, having collected more than the target revenue in the first 3 months of the current financial year.
Sources say that the FBR also informed the IMF about the action plan against tax evaders, while the IMF has expressed satisfaction over the performance of the FBR.
According to sources, the IMF will be informed about the economic performance in the first week of October. July-September revenue data will be presented to the IMF next week.
