Lahore: The staff of the Animal Rescue Center established in Lahore to prevent animal cruelty and cruelty have rescued a large number of pets and birds from a citizen’s house in the township area, which were kept in very bad conditions.
The Police Animal Rescue Center has registered the first FIR under the Animal Cruelty Act. The Center has registered the first FIR under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1890.
A case has been registered in Thana Township on the complaint of Incharge Police Enamel Rescue Center Lady Warden Arusa Hussain. According to the center authorities, a resident of the township named Shakeel was keeping birds and animals on the roof of the house. Bones and remains of dead animals were also found on the roof of the citizen’s house.
He said that the owner had not made proper arrangements for the birds and animals to eat and drink.
It should be noted that torturing animals and birds, keeping them hungry and thirsty and treating them cruelly is a crime. The Anti-Cruelty to Animals Department has the authority to take action against animal abusers, but due to the incompetence of Punjab Livestock, this institution based in the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore is practically inactive.
The first Police Animal Rescue Center was established in Lahore last month on the instructions of I Punjab. The center has been established with the support of an NGO working for animal welfare, headed by JFK, the head of the NGO, Dhofshan Anoushe.
