Lahore: Lahore to Faisalabad train service was suspended due to the collapse of the pillar of the railway bridge between Shahdara and Masan Collar.
Due to suspension of train service, Mari Express running between Lahore and Kandian while Badr and Ghori Express running between Faisalabad and Lahore have been cancelled.
Due to track closure, Karakoram Express running between Karachi and Lahore has been diverted via Sahiwal. Similarly, routes of Shalimar Express and Mianwali Express have also been changed.
According to the railway spokesperson, the railway staff was present for inspection when the tire fell and the train operation was immediately stopped on the timely notification of the incident. The restoration work of the bridge has been started, the traffic on the bridge will be restored in 72 hours.
Meanwhile, trains are being operated from main line and Wazirabad side.
