Beirut: Imad Yassin, 50, the head of ISIS in Lebanon, was sentenced to a total of 160 years in prison after being found guilty of 11 charges.
According to Arab media, Imad Yassin was the main character of the bombings in various hotels, power plants and other places across the country, including the TV station in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.
Imad Yassin was also accused of planning and supporting deadly attacks on security forces and targeting government buildings, and was arrested on September 22, 2016, near the coastal city of Saida.
Imad Yassin, popularly known as Imad Aql, was previously a member of the Jund al-Sham group and participated in several operations before joining ISIS and rising to become the emir of Lebanon.
During interrogation, Imad Yassin confessed to operations in the largest Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon, shooting at Lebanese soldiers and transferring arms and ammunition to armed groups.
In light of Imad Yassin’s confessions and evidence, the Lebanese military court sentenced him to 11 prison sentences totaling 160 years.
