Lahore: The last spell of monsoon in Punjab is likely to start with dangerous gales and storms.
While issuing an alert for heavy rains in the province, PDMA has said that there are chances of rain in different districts of Punjab during September 28 to 30.
According to the spokesman, the last spell of monsoon in the province is likely to begin with dangerous gales and storms. Due to rains, there is a possibility of a significant drop in temperature. DG PDMA Imran Qureshi has issued instructions to the deputy commissioners across the province to remain alert.
DG PDMA has issued instructions that the concerned departments should be on alert to deal with the emergency situation. District Emergency Operation Centers have also been alerted. Monitoring of the situation in the PDMA control room will continue 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 1122 and other rescue agencies keep the machinery and staff alert.
The spokesman has issued guidelines for the public and said that people should avoid unnecessary travel in bad weather. Citizens should stay away from dilapidated and under-construction buildings. Stay away from electric wires and poles and call PDMA’s helpline 1129 in case of emergency.
