Formation of a high-level committee on the issue of revival of students' union in educational institutions

Islamabad: The Federal Ministry of Education has formed a high-level committee on the issue of revival of students’ union in universities and other educational institutions.

A 14-member committee headed by the senior joint secretary will review the issues related to the students’ union and submit a report within 10 days.

The high-level constituted committee includes researchers, education experts and vice-chancellors of universities. The senior joint secretary of the Ministry of Education will be the chairman of the committee while the executive director of the Higher Education Commission has also been made a member of the committee.

Vice-Chancellor Quaid-e-Azam University, Vice-Chancellor Namal University, Rector International University Islamabad, Vice-Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Degree College Rawalpindi and the principals of 2 major colleges F84 and H84 of the federal capital have also been appointed as members of the committee.

Apart from this, academicians Ali Moin Nawazish, Ayesha Razak have also been made members in the committee. 3 research students will also join the committee. The committee will submit its recommendations in 10 days and will also review the bill in this regard in the Senate.
