Islamabad: The Election Commission has prepared the polling scheme for the upcoming general elections.

The Senate of the Secretary Election Commission has informed the Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs in a briefing that elections will be held in 859 constituencies of the National and Provincial Assembly, including 266 constituencies of the National Assembly and 593 constituencies of the Provincial Assembly.

According to the Secretary Election Commission, 91 thousand 800 polling stations will be established for the elections. The number of normal polling stations is 41 thousand 800, the number of sensitive polling stations is 32 thousand 508, while 17 thousand 411 polling stations have been declared as highly sensitive.

In the briefing, it was further informed that 1 million personnel will perform duty in the general elections. Electronic devices will be provided to Returning Officers for results. Election Commission software will be installed. The Returning Officer will send the photographs of Form 45 along with the place and time.

The Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs reiterated the demand to hold elections in 90 days and said that the Election Commission should issue the election schedule as soon as possible.
