Caretaker government of Punjab abolished EVM machine

Lahore: The caretaker government of Punjab issued an ordinance to abolish the electronic voting machine by amending the election law.

According to the details, the Caretaker Cabinet of Punjab approved the abolition of electronic voting machine and declared the main reason for this as load shedding, while saying that electronic voting machine is a waste of time.

The cabinet issued an ordinance to abolish EVMs with amendments to the election rules, which will remain in force for three months, while the caretaker government has been empowered to extend the ordinance further.

Adviser to Punjab Chief Minister Kanwar Dilshad said that the Buzdar government deliberately put EVMs in the act, the position of the Election Commission is clear that EVMs are not a feasible plan.
